All I Want for Christmas is You

The year was 1993, Steve Dunning was asked to direct one of his first music videos. The video was for Vince Vance and Valiants, a local DFW band known for their fun-filled ‘novelty’ shows, They had come up with a song that would eventually be the only Christmas song that topped the national Billboard charts, “All I Want for Christmas is You.”
The video has been seen over 600,000 times since 2013. That’s pretty cool. It’s so adored that the Mariah Carey cover version of the song is this week’s number one on the Billboard Holiday Top 100 Songs. Who knew that little song that Vince and his band did would be so well loved.
Even though it was a different century, it’s fun to look back on memorable shoots like these and remember that the reason we got into this business was to have fun. Long days, long nights, but truly fun!
